What does the room rate include?

Your room rate includes:

· 1 private wellbeing consultation per guest

· Support of wellbeing host to plan and personalise wellbeing programme

· Unlimited access to group wellbeing activities during your stay

· Veya credits that can used for meals, spa treatments, and private wellbeing sessions

· Complimentary access to our gymnasium, swimming pools, and bicycles

What are the supplemental charges?

Your room rate does NOT include:

· Meals or minibar items

· Private class sessions

· Private excursion or tours

· Transfer, laundry, or Incidental Charges

Do I have to decide on a wellbeing programme before arriving at Banyan Tree Veya?

No. All guests start their stay at with a private wellbeing consultation. Guests will be advised on the best programme to suit their needs after discussing their health profile, interests, and goals. Guests are also free to change their pre-booked programme after this consultation.

Do you cater for solo travellers?

Yes, we welcome solo travellers, and in fact many of our guests come alone. We have a communal table at dinner, which is a great way to meet others for guests who choose to do so.

Do you allow children (age 12 and below) at the resort?

The facilities and services at Banyan Tree Veya Phuket are designed for adults seeking the time, place and expertise to improve their wellbeing. It is not recommended for children. We recommend Banyan Tree Phuket should you plan to travel with children.

Is there a minimum length of stay?

We recommend a minimum 2-3 night stay. A 7-night stay will allow guests a chance to select from 50 activities offered each week.

Do you offer group retreats?

Although we recommend keeping our class sizes intimate to ensure a personalised experience, it is possible to organise group retreats with some adjustments. 

Is the resort properly insured for all these activities?

The hotel is insured for these activities. There is no significant difference in the risks or difficulty levels of the activities offered in the wellbeing programme as compared to those currently offered by the hotel.

Will you do any medical assessments before, during, or after the stay?

Medical assessments are not required, as the only objective is for you to gain new insights about yourself and make simple but impactful changes through the wellbeing activities.

Are there any health restrictions for participating in the activities?

We do not recommended this programme if you:

  • Have recurring injuries
    • Require medical aid
    • Have chronic health conditions
    • Had any surgeries in the past 6 months
    • Have been advised by your doctors to avoid strenuous physical activity

 

The "Urban Detox" module requires a disciplined diet. This track is not recommended for those with low blood pressure or low blood sugar levels. If in doubt, please consult your doctor.

What if I have special dietary needs or preferences?

Our chefs and wellbeing hosts are happy to support your dietary preferences and nutritional goals. However, we recommend sharing your needs before arrival.

 

Please note that lunches and dinners are not included in the programme, but can be redeemed with Veya credits. Our selection of wellbeing cuisine is available at multiple dining venues in Banyan Tree Phuket.

Can I smoke, drink alcohol or drink coffee?

Smoking is not recommended. For your safety, we recommend consuming alcohol in moderation only in the evenings. Alcohol may impair your sense of balance and judgement when participating in wellbeing activities. Organic tea and coffee are provided in the villas.

How can I get to Banyan Tree Veya Phuket?

Phuket is served by multiple international airlines with direct flights from major cities around the world. Private transfers may be arranged with the hotel for a seamless travel experience. Travelling time between Phuket airport and the resort is about 30 minutes.

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in is at 14.00 and check-out is at 12.00.

How do I prepare for my stay?

There is no required preparation beyond your current lifestyle needs. Do bring along a few sets of comfortable sports attire and shoes, a swimming costume, sandals, sunglasses, a hat, and sun and insect protection.

Are mobile phones or drones permitted within the resort?

To respect the privacy of our guests, the use of drones is not permissible within the resort.

 

While you are at Veya, we encourage you to take the opportunity to be fully present and engaged in the moment. We recommend detaching from your digital devices during the day and fully immersing yourself in the Veya experience of connection with self, others, and nature.

How do I know my stay is a responsible/sustainable one?

Who could benefit from the Veya wellbeing programme?

Veya strives to raise one's self awareness and consciousness of the different pillars of wellbeing. It is a safe space for anyone who wishes to explore and discover tools and knowledge that will support them in improving their wellbeing long after they return home.

Is there Wi-Fi at Veya?

Yes, there is Wi-Fi at Veya. However, we recommend detaching from your digital devices during the day and immersing yourself fully in the Veya experience of connecting with self, others, and nature.

What if I need to postpone/cancel my stay? Can I change the date of my reservation?

Any cancellations or amendments to a reservation must be received by the hotel at least 14 to 30 days (according to season) ahead of arrival.

I wish to book for a large group/event/company retreat. Do I get a discounted rate?

Are all the activities conducted in groups?

All activities are conducted in groups, but all spa sessions take place in the privacy of your villa.

How many persons per class?

Our priority is to deliver intimate classes. The average class consists of 8 - 16 persons but some are limited to 2 - 4 persons.

Could I request for private sessions if I want to specialise in a specific areas?

Yes, this can be arranged and additional charges will apply.

Are the practitioners male, female, or mixed?

We have both male and female associates, and it is possible to make special requests for certain activities.

Are the instructors qualified for the programme?

Our instructors carry accredited wellbeing qualifications from their respective fields. Each of them has rich instructional and practical experience.

What language does your staff speak during activities?

English is currently the only language spoken during activities.

How many days do you recommend for each curated programme?

We recommend a minimum stay of 3 nights for a more rounded wellbeing experience. Staying for 7 nights will allow guests a chance to select from 50 different activities offered each week.

Are meals included in the programme?

Lunches and dinners are not included in the programme, but can be redeemed with Veya credits. The resort offers diverse menu and dining options. Veya is the signature restaurant at Banyan Tree Veya. Innovative wellbeing dishes are also available at other dining venues in Banyan Tree Phuket.

Is there a special diet required for the various tracks?

Our Wellbeing hosts can advise on menu selections based on your wellbeing needs and goals.

Where do the activities take place?

All activities happen within the resort premises of Banyan Tree Veya Phuket and Banyan Tree Phuket. Our Wellbeing Centre, Fitness Centre, Yoga Pavilion, and Outdoor spaces are the main locations.

Is there a required attire for activities or any specific dress code during the stay?

We recommend:

  • Practice Classes - Sports attire
  • Learning Workshops - Casual, comfortable clothes
  • Selected cultural/inspirational activities - Smart casual attire
Do I need a minimum fitness level before joining classes?

Most classes are suitable for a wide range of fitness levels. They are designed for anyone with the ability to function on a daily basis with no recurring injuries, medical aid, or chronic health conditions. As our classes are purposely kept small and intimate, instructors will be able to moderate the intensity based on each participant. If you require an advanced level or a more personalised service, we recommend booking private sessions.

How do you recommend we arrange our schedules? Should each fitness day be followed by a relaxing day?

The choice is entirely yours. Our programme has been built to allow you total freedom. Depending on your fitness, energy level, and interest, you can decide to attend movement activities and learning workshops every single day of your stay. Our wellbeing hosts will be here to guide you along your journey, but a regular participant would attend 2 practice classes and 1 learning workshop per day.

What will happen if I miss a class? Can I join the next day?

Our schedule is fixed for each day in a week, so if you miss a particular class, it may not be available the next day. However, our wellbeing hosts will assist you to select another class to help you achieve your goals. Alternatively, we can also arrange private classes (with extra charges).

What happens if I want to do the same class twice?

Our schedule is fixed for every day of the week to allow guests to discover a wide range of activities they may be interested in. It may not be possible to repeat a class, but our wellbeing hosts can assist in selecting another class to help achieve your goals. Alternatively, we can also arrange private classes (with extra charges).

What if I would like to join a class from another ‘curated programme’?

The choice is entirely yours. Our programme has been built to allow you total freedom. On arrival, you will meet your wellbeing host who will design a programme that fits your goals. Alternatively, you can also communicate with your wellbeing host before arrival to do a pre-schedule.

Will I receive a certificate of completion at the end of the stay?

There is no certificate for completing the stay. The objective of this journey is to help you gain greater self awareness, familiarise yourself with different possibilities for wellbeing and discover your most preferred way to achieve your personal wellbeing goals.

What do I stand to gain at the end of my stay?

After your stay, you should have a clearer understanding of wellbeing. Through our recommended activities and curated programme, you will gain insights on achieving a more sustained and balanced practice across the different pillars of wellbeing.

 

Our activities are designed to deliver simple but impactful changes to your life. Our holistic approach to physical fitness will give you the opportunity to discover and learn about the multiple dimensions of physical fitness. You will gain or regain insights to enhance your lifestyle through our learning workshops. Some of the inspirational experiences may initiate fresh perspectives about your life, your relationships with others, and connection with nature.

 

As each of us is unique, our takeaway from each activity will differ. As such, we encourage you to try as many as activities as you can with no additional charges.
